the temple of peace
Before vandals severely damaged this memorial in the early 2000's the Temple of Peace was one of the most renowned graves in Toowong Cemetery. Built by Richard Ramo to the memory of his sons who had died in war, the memorial was dedicated to a world at peace.
UPDATE
The Temple of Peace has been carefully restored by the Friends of Toowong Cemetery and Brisbane City Council. It was a mammoth task given the memorial is listed by the National Trust. Original stained glass had to be sourced from all around Australia to ensure the memorial maintained it's heritage status. To prevent further vandalism clear, shatter-proof glass has been errected in front of the original stained glass windows.

The temple is looking as beautiful as it ever was and Ghost Tours is proud of the work the Friends of Toowong have done to have this important piece of Brisbane history returned to us.
