It's modern name, Dutton Park Cemetery, hides its former glory.This beautiful cemetery on the edge of the Brisbane River is virtually all that survives of the former town of South Brisbane. Today, this testament to the past decays slowly, forgotten on the edge of the town. The second largest cemetery in the state of Queensland, hides many terrible tales in its darkened groves.

Forgotten in a darkened glen lie the remains of 41 of those executed on the infamous Gallows of BOGGO ROAD GAOL - including Australia's last bushranger, outlaw Patrick Kenniff; Ernest Austin (child killer) the last man to be hanged in the state; Ellen Thompson, the only woman to be hanged in Queensland history.

They are nothing to idolise. These vicious criminals were responsible for some of the most infamous crimes in the 19th and early Twentieth centuries yet nothing marks their graves.
