The Eerie Arcade

The Brisbane Arcade is the city's oldest surviving arcade, linking two of the town's most important thoroughfares, Queen Street , once the busiest road in Queensland , now a mall, with Adelaide Street .

Built in the 1920s, the arcade is home to more than fifty up-market stores including the state's finest designers, gold and diamond merchants, antiques rooms, watch repairers, tearooms and cafes. During the day, the Arcade comes alive beckoning shoppers with its dazzling displays.

After dark, when the shoppers have gone and retailers closed their doors, the atmosphere is different. It is silent and still. A certain chill fills the air. Some say a ghostly figure can be seen, and felt, walking the floors.

Tour experience from this Haunted Site...

"When we were going up one by one, a room in the area had what we thought was a person cleaning and listening to music. It was my turn to go investigate, and when I passed the room being cleaned and rounded the corner to visit the haunted bathroom the music stopped and I heard someone leave the room and enter another room then quickly go down the far stairs which I just came up. My girlfriend said no one went down or up those stairs."
