In years gone by Catholic nuns would extend, as a
community service, the presence of one of their own
to mourners at the cemetery. Many have claimed to
have seen a robed figure dressed as a sister in the
grounds. Her knowledge of the various burials, funeral
rites and practices etc. is impressive, as is her
knowledge of the city of South Brisbane circa the
late 19th Century. Journey beyond the gates of Dutton Park Cemetery with The Sister as you discover
the history of death and dying in Brisbane during
the Victorian Era.
